This is a “picture” the Lord gave me…meant to be a revelation for modern-day Believers in Christ. After all, we didn’t have commuter trains years ago. It compares our Christian Walk to a Commuter Train.
WHAT DO WE SEE?
The Commuter Train – is full of believers in Christ, yet all who are on this train are going in the same direction: Toward God, His righteousness, His purposes, and plans…
Final Destination: Heaven
Christ IS the Train
Are you dwelling in Him?
You have boarding access if you have received the salvation ticket, via the blood of Christ… your Free Ticket.
By boarding, you are made perfect forever, through Christ’s sacrifice. “By one sacrifice he has made perfect forever, those who are being made perfect.” Hebrews 10:14
The journey is the part of “being made holy”.
Your only requirement is to purposely STAY ON BOARD!
Now let’s look into this journey:

TRAIN CARS – DOORS ON BOTH SIDES
The train cars connect together on this train and make up the train. These cars can represent churches, house groups, missions’ organizations, families, friends, or any season we are in ourselves.
There are even solitaire train cars, meaning you’re going it alone for a season…
Double doors appear on both sides of the commuter trains cars… Representing how other people will come in and out of our lives, or where we will go in and out of theirs, or in and out of places, or seasons.
Maybe with a hello or maybe not, maybe leaving without a goodbye… or in a huff, or maybe a fond farewell is had.
We will have a great deal of activity, in our lifetime, through these double doors on both sides… allowing entry and exiting.
There is really so much freedom on this train… so much freedom. God says, “Do not be afraid of change.”
TRAINING

Maybe you will have specific training from a pastor, a mentor, a brother or sister in Christ… while in a certain train car.
Be listening, while you’re with them, and in that car…
God is giving you the information for the purpose and plan he has for you. Nothing on this train goes on by accident.
Christ is aware of those on his train.
He will tell you when to go to them, when to leave them, etc.
We all have bits and pieces of truth from the Holy Spirit. Be ever listening, ever sharing, with one another.
Maybe you are to BE that teacher-trainer. ARE YOU DOING IT?
WORSHIP

You will worship on this train, maybe corporately as some of these people are doing.
Enjoying each other in the awesome experience of worshipping together.
Yet you may be like the girl in this picture, who is more introspective and listening to her own music for a time. It’s OK, you’re still on the train… still going in the same direction…
TIMES OF BEING ALONE

You may be taken into periods of aloneness.
Do not be concerned. You are just in the aloneness train car, for now… but you are not alone… and you are still on the train.
Embrace where you are, until the conductor takes you into a busier, more active season.

Aloneness is also sometimes because of how we have chosen to travel… in God’s plan. Be comforted to know you are still on the train and joined to all the other cars. Just rest in the fact that you are going to your destination…in Christ.
GIVING

Oh yes, giving may be required to keep life on the train satisfactory, and those witnesses going out to welcome others on board.
Be a giver. It is part of being on the train and keeping Christ’s purposes and plans moving forward.
And it can be done with GREAT JOY!
LEARNING AND QUIET TIME

As in this picture, while on the train, and in this car, you will be reading and studying, both events and seasons of our times, and the word of God as it applies. Why? So you may journey with wisdom.
The thing is, after you have received, you really need to find an outlet “to share” what God has given you, for then we edify and uplift one another by sharing what he imparts to us with others. Fellowship and friendships are so important while on this train. Do not be afraid to gather people together for this purpose. You will all benefit greatly.
WORKING – PLAYING

You will be working while on this train… at whatever God has given you to do. He will instruct us in our labors. ENJOY them!
You will also have plenty of time to enjoy life and recreation on this train. Friendly games, sports, and fun times of fellowship energize and bring fresh life to those on the train. “A cheerful heart is good like a medicine.” Proverbs 17:22a
DATING – MATING

You may be asking God to reveal to you your spouse, while on the train… if single or widowed.
Make sure you only look for someone ON THE TRAIN.
God’s word commands singles, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness” 2 Cor 6:14
DINING – FEASTING

The conductor- the Holy Spirit-will be welcoming you to DINE- OFTEN- with incredible spiritual food…
And will provide all your needs for food, clothing, and shelter as far as natural, practical needs too….AS you remain on the train, trusting…
OTHERS TRYING TO DECIDE
Many are trying to decide whether to board this train, you see. So, welcoming them on, and into your car, will make them more apt to choose the RIGHT TRAIN! The other train, at the other platform, going the other way, is very welcoming… Yet IT leads to destruction. Keep that in mind.

“Looks rather empty” they may think to themselves as they look at the glory train. SO LET YOURSELF BECOME VISIBLE…YOU ON THE TRAIN!
Don’t be invisible to the seekers…BE OPEN, BE YOURSELF, BE BOLD!

INVITING OTHERS IN
Maybe you and others, need to wear that smile, give a wave, and welcome and invite others to board the same train car you are presently in. Wonderful!
They are listening…
LOVE IS A STRONG POWER, and it is possible in GOD, for He IS Love.
YOU CAN BET THEY’RE BEING INFLUENCED

Those who have not yet boarded…but are seeking…are being given all kinds of messages…especially the main lie that there are many ways to God.
The Truth is: There is only ONE WAY- ONE TRAIN TO CATCH- CHRIST JESUS.
He alone can take us there to heaven and into fellowship with The Father.
Pray that those on the glory train will shout louder “a loving welcome” to those seeking or who have come off the train, as a prodigal.
WARN OTHERS
Those who are undecided… as to whether they want to board the glory train… will in these last days be forcibly PUSHED onto the Wrong Train… the Train to Destruction… the train all unbelievers are on.

INDECISION is the most frightening place to be dwelling during these end times. It will be the place of torment, for you may feel God’s invitation AND the pushing toward the other train! If you read this, and know you’re not on the right train, GET ON THE RIGHT TRACK NOW! BOARD NOW!!! You’ll be taken from glory to glory by Christ Jesus. It’s a promise!
INVITATION

Do not let the train – and its inviting guests – pass you by.
Join these believers…
Join the activity of this train! Being IN Christ Jesus!
Know that you are being taken into the purpose and plan of God, by being on board.
RECAP

The power of God will get you to your final destination! Heaven! And perfect intimacy with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit… and loving fellowship with his children, all believers everywhere, will be yours.
We are ON THE SAME TRAIN, GOING THE SAME DIRECTION.
NOW DOESN’T THIS SIMPLIFY OUR DIFFERENCES?
We are just in different cars… on that train… and with different people, at different times…
THINK ON THIS:

Doesn’t this take the struggle out of having people enter and leave your life? (Knowing it is part of this journey? To “let go” is sometimes to “let God” have his perfect will.)
Doesn’t this take the concerns of whether to attend this home group or that local church away? You have the freedom to choose where you receive fellowship and instruction.
And the conductor is there to ask questions of, for you want no wasted time or activity upon your journey.
God wants us to enjoy our journey.
He wants us to realize he will keep the train moving– all of us on it- in the right direction- if we remain in Christ- secure in our salvation.
By the way… resting on the train is a most pleasant activity. Enter His Rest… as He takes you where he wants you to go… struggling, questioning, and apprehension can be replaced by faith in His knowing your destination will be revealed.

Then awaken, when you get where you’re to be, or when he wants you to do something for him or for his people. Psalm 29:11 says, “The Lord gives His people strength; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” A lot of this is done through resting and not striving or trying to make things happen, while allowing the Lord to work behind the scenes, on our behalf.
Let’s be aware of the journey… of this train… And aware of all the people that surround us.

Even in our alone times, we know we are going in the right direction and being taken toward our purpose. Don’t allow alone time to bring depression or questioning of your value. Even Jesus went to be “alone” many times.
Please spread the encouragement of this prophetic picture…something in the natural that reflects something in the spiritual. I realize, though I see this clearly, it may take a bit of thought to perceive what I am sharing; but I will be praying for you, that you will do the pondering of these comparisons, and thereby experience a freedom you never had before in your Christian walk, as this picture becomes clearly understood.
Remember always:
Your journey is likened to being on a commuter train headed for glory! And what a wonderful ride it is!!
