Salt Puts Out Fire

When you said that Lord…that salt and fire go together, and my app is still on Mark 9:49-50, I received a knowing that Salt can “put out” a Fire too, without a lot of mess.

Salt takes away fire’s oxygen so that it will simply go out!

So, where verse 50 verse says, “Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another”, does this mean with the salt we now have in us, we can cause arguments to cease? and have peace in all our relationships? Putting out fires, so to speak?

Exactly, Elizabeth. For arguments to continue they are fueled as a flame of fire…but when your salt comes in…i.e., you don’t “add to it” with a retort, a remark, an opinion, or a reaction…then it will go out.

The salt within you will enable you to avoid getting entrapped in debate, offense, and even defense and justification, thus enabling my children to live at peace with one another. So yes, have salt in yourselves and be at peace.

Thank you so much Lord.

Your Communication Depends on Me outline is suddenly highlighted to me with this additional truth!

If you, Holy Spirit, start with each one of us in our own decision-making, and we are then salted and proceed through all the levels of communication therein… as Salt, we can individually and then collectively extinguish the fires of bad relationships and evil communications!

Then maybe we can undo, without a big mess, what the Enemy has done all around us. Please Lord, bring about the fires of revival instead! Overcoming evil with good! I’m getting excited, Lord! (smile)

You are thinking correctly, Elizabeth. “Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21)

My children, now knowing this is what their salt IS FOR can easily put out fires of evil.

Do you realize also, a spark of fire by my Spirit can make all the difference?

Yes, Holy Spirit, I guess I actually changed your subject a bit from “the tiny spark setting off a forest fire” that you made mention of. So, please go on. I’m listening.
